Preparation Strategy
We have a comprehensive plan to prepare Rising 6th, 7th and 8th graders for the TJ/AOS Admissions exam and we are committed to working with them until they obtain all of the skills they need to have an edge over other students in the TJ/AOS admissions process. We also prepare students for various competitions, including Science Olympiad, MathCounts, Continental Math League, Virginia Math League, and the AMC 8 and 10. These competitions are great extracurricular activities that you can use on your TJ/AOS application.
TJ/AOS Selection Process is based on
- Standardized Admissions Test in Math, Reading, and Writing
- In school and after school activities in Academic & Non-Academic
- Student Information Sheet
- Two Teacher Recommendations
- Writing Prompt(s)
- Good GPA from middle School
Students at our Program will...
- Progress through four levels of math classes (Number & Operations, Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra 2) while they are enriching their skills and focusing on preparation for the Math section of the TJ/AOS Admissions Test and SAT/PSAT Math section.
- Work on Vocabulary, Critical Reading, Logical Reasoning and Scrambled Paragraphs for the Reading/Verbal Section(s).
- Learn how to write a good timed essays with one-on-one Bi-Weekly Writing sessions on Weekdays.
- We Help how to write an effective Student Information Sheet with one-on-one Bi-Weekly Writing sessions on Weekdays.
- Build skills to get a good GPA.
