What is CogAT? This CogAT Prep course is a wonderful opportunity for children to prepare for the CogAT exam in order to qualify for the Gifted & Talented programs. This CogAT prep course will increase the chances of achieving a high percentile ranking in CogAT test conducted by the County schools. Why is the CogAT important? The CogAT is an important evaluation for several reasons. This test assesses specific reasoning skills in areas that strongly correlate to academic success. The CogAT provides teachers and parents with information about students cognitive development, ability to learn new tasks, and problem solving abilities. Additionally, several gifted and talented programs across the United States may require students to take the CogAT in order to be considered for admissions. Because much of its content is nonverbal, the CogAT is also very useful for testing students who are not native English speakers. How should I prepare my child for the CogAT? Familiarize your child with the format and content of the CogAT. Make sure that your child has plenty of time to practice, as this is essential to his/her success on the test. Determining the best way to study can be difficult. CogAT makes this step easier by offering comprehensive, grade-specific study packs, enabling your child to prepare for the test. What is NNAT? This NNAT Prep course is a wonderful opportunity for children in 1st and 2nd grades to prepare for the NNAT exam in order to qualify for the Gifted & Talented programs. This NNAT prep course will increase the chances of achieving a high percentile ranking in NNAT test given in Fairfax County. Why is the NNAT important? The NNAT is an important test for many reasons. First, it provides an assessment of intellectual ability, without relying solely on achievement. In other words, the NNAT provides information on children who may be gifted, but do not perform well in school for other reasons, such as a language barrier or learning difficulties. Additionally, many programs require students to take the NNAT to be considered for admission. How should I prepare my child for the NNAT? First and foremost, make sure your child is familiar with the NNAT test content and format as it will increase his/her chances at success.At NNAT we offer comprehensive study packs to prepare your child for test day. Each study pack includes realistic, full length practice tests, five video tutorials, sample questions, and helpful study guides. What is this CogAT Prep course about? Academy4Enrichment is pleased to announce the launch of NNAT course for Fairfax County 1st grade students. This program helps build students cognitive skills required for Gifted & Talented exams. Good scores on these exams are required to qualify for the AAP/GT Programs. Please click here for more detail about NNAT. How can we help your child? This course is designed to introduce and enrich the skills needed to score high on the CogAT exam over 9 different categories of cognitive skills in Quantitative, Verbal & Non-Verbal sections. During each session we will be given practice materials by topic. Students also take computer based CogAT full-length practice exams. Our NNAT Prep course is designed to introduce and enrich the skills needed to score high on the NNAT exam over different categories of Non-Verbal skills. During each session students will be given practice materials by topic. Students also take full-length practice NNAT exams on weekdays in designated time slots and reviewed on weekend sessions before the NNAT exam in the school. How is the student's progress monitored? We measure each student's progress with a quiz each week, and full-length practice exams. Scores will be reported on the web through the parent login. Is class size limited? All classes are limited to 8 to 10 students. This is to ensure that each student receives individual attention from our teachers. What if I miss a class? Unfortunately, we cannot refund fees for individual classes. We will provide materials for missing classes. |
