Our AET Test Preparation Strategy

We have a comprehensive plan to prepare 7th graders to meet the requiremens of AET Admission exams, and we are committed to working with them on AET testing requirements of Math SOLs, Essay Writing skills, Interest Statement, Critical Thinking and Reasoning skills for CCTDI and CCTST tests.

In addition to above course, students can also signup for various STEM programs or workshops, including American Computer Science League(ACSL), National Science League(NSL), MathCounts, Continental Math League(CML), Virginia Math League(VML), and AMC 8. These competitions prepare students for the rigorous academic environment as well as it helps to support thier Essay and Interest Statement for the AET admissions.

We strongly believe our long term conceptual teaching approach provides the needed foundation for any high school.

What is covered in the AET Prep course?

The following test preparations are focused in the AET course:

7th grade SOL Math (Algebra 1) : Feb to April (3 months)
Writing for Essay Prompt & Interest Statement : May to Sept (5 months)
CCTDI & CCTST critical thinking and verbal reasoning concepts in different areas : Oct to Jan(4 months)
3-on-1 or 1-on-1 essay writing: May to Jan (9 months)

AET Prep class details/schedules:

The following courses in sequence helps 7th/8th graders to get ready for AET first round and second round exams:

Math SOL (Algebra I) - (1.5 hours/week; 3 Months; Feb - Apr):

Algebra I SOL concepts taught, SOL Mock tests are given during this course for 7th graders on the following class schedule:

Timings: Saturday, 11:00 - 12:30 pm or Monday, 6:30 - 8:00 pm (at Ashburn) ; Saturday, 12:30 - 2:00 pm (at South Riding)
Cost: $450

Essay Writing - (1 hour/week; 5 months; May to Sept - 20 hours):

We teach Essay Writing skills for the students from the 7th grade May month to 8th grade Sept month.

Timings: Saturday, 10:00 - 11:00 pm (Ashburn); Saturday 12:30 - 1:30 pm (South Riding)
Cost: $500

Three-on-One Essay Writing (1 hour/month; 9 months; May to Jan - 9 hours):

These are face to face sessions with 3 students with teacher for feedback on homework assignments of essays and interest statement.

Timings: 1 hour session will be is scheduled
Cost: $270

One-on-One Essay Writing (30 minutes bi-weekly; 9 months; May to Jan - 18 sessions):

These are face to face sessions only one student with the teacher for feedback on homework assignments of essays and interest statement.

Timings: 1 hour session will be is scheduled
Cost: $540

CCTDI/CCTST (1 hour/week; 4 Months; Oct,2018 to Jan,2019):

CCTDI test is done in Nov month so the CCTST test prep happens in the 8th grade months of Dec and Jan.

Timings: Saturday, 10:00 - 11:00 pm or Monday, 6:30 - 7:30 pm (Ashburn); or Saturday, 12:30 - 1:30 (South Riding)
Cost: $400
